Mission Statement:
Neal A. Snydman founded Vintage Imports Inc. twenty seven years ago as a ‘niche player' to represent small boutique wineries and distribute their wines in Pennsylvania, with a particular focus on restaurants.

Our facilities and staff have grown, and, today we are distributing in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware and remain committed to finding and distributing small boutique producers of fine wines from around the world.  We truly value our customers and take particular pride in our sales and support staff and their dedication to customer service.

Company History

To many people there is little or no relationship between tires and wine, but then again, Neal Snydman is certainly not “most people.”

The vision for Vintage Imports was born in 1979 while Neal was pursuing a successful career in the tire industry and he and his wife Karen thought it an opportune time to launch a business. As a dedicated fan of food and wine, Neal noticed that restaurants in Pennsylvania did not have a vast and varied wine selection and there was a real need for a niche player to sell and market the wines from small boutique wine producers. One of many state-run “monopolies” in the United States , Pennsylvania had a reputation for being difficult waters to navigate for small producers of fine wine, but Neal sought to change that. Vintage Imports opened its doors in the basement of Neal and Karen's home in July 1980.

The Pennsylvania system did not really offer the restaurateurs any access to exclusive products, but Neal began to add quality producers to his portfolio and service the Philadelphia area's fine dining establishments with some of the best wine that this market had ever seen. Some of the earliest Vintage Imports brands included Sanford & Benedict, Chalone, Mill Creek, DeLoach, Louis Latour, Bogle, Landmark, Trefethen, Grand Cru and many more. In the years that followed more and more people on both sides of the business heard about the great job that Vintage Imports was doing. Proving that if you build it, they will come…producers like Shafer, Frog's Leap, Matanzas Creek, Duckhorn, Jordan, Silver Oak, Plumpack, Chalk Hill and many many more began to choose Vintage Imports as their distributor partner in Pennsylvania.

By 1982, the business had grown so much that Neal needed to move the operations to a small 1,000 square foot garage. Those were modest days for Vintage where the ‘temperature control' in his facility was provided by blankets, a kerosene heater and an old reconditioned window mounted air conditioner. With a consistent and constant attention to his customers, Neal's business continued to grow and in 1984, Lynn Apple was hired as Vintage's first salesperson and Robert Redhouse as Vintage's first warehouse person and driver. By 1985, Vintage again needed a new home and 2,500 square feet of temperature controlled Warehouse in Suburban Philadelphia was perfect. Sales necessitated an expansion to 4,000 square feet in 1987 which was Vintage Imports home until we arrived at our current Bristol , PA facilities, which were completed and customized in 1996. We currently have two very large temperature controlled warehouses, meeting rooms, tasting rooms, offices, our customer service/operations floor and a fleet of modern delivery trucks at this same location.

In 1990 on a shopping trip to Delaware , Neal was amazed at how fast and easy it was to get from Philadelphia to Wilmington , a major metropolitan area just 35 minutes from Philadelphia . At that time, there were only six wholesale licenses in all of Delaware , and in the fall of this same year, he got licensed, rented a warehouse and began to service the state of Delaware . In the years that followed Vintage Imports continued to grow: more salespeople, more office support, more service, and more success!

When Neal moved Vintage Imports to Bristol , PA in 1996 he constructed the facility with an office for his ‘right hand man', but the office sat empty until January of 1998. Paul Zientek and Neal had met many years prior during Paul's fourteen year career at Lauber Imports and had maintained ties over the years. Paul joined Vintage Imports in 1998 as a Vice President but has grown to become a part owner. Neal helped educate Paul on the ins and outs of the system in Pennsylvania, but after six months, neither could ignore the massive potential that New Jersey offered and later in 1998, Vintage got licensed and fueled by Paul's great reputation and network of contacts, began to do business in New Jersey..

Patrick Bradley joined Vintage Imports as Operations Manager in 2001 and has increased the efficiency and reliability of all facets of business. Steve Pinchuk came aboard in 2005 as Vintage Imports Sales Manager and has brought a wealth of knowledge and a plethora of skills with him.

Our business continues to grow and we pride ourselves on the quality of wines and our level of service. It all began with Neal Snydman's vision over twenty six years ago….Today, we are a dedicated and committed team of owners, managers, salespeople, customer service representatives, drivers and order pickers, but we all still adhere to the same high standards of quality and service in an effort to best serve the most important people—our customers!!!
