Portfolio Tasting – Supplier Registration

Our twelfth annual Grand Portfolio Tasting is coming upon us quickly!

Many of you may recall that Vintage Imports’ inaugural (and perhaps not-so-grand) Portfolio Tasting was held in September 2007 in the basement of the Cira Centre across from 30th Street Station.  While it was by no means a ‘bad’ event, let’s suffice to say that it was a great learning experience for us and helped us modify and shape our event for the future.
We knew that Cira Centre space was cramped (and a bit boring), so in 2008, we relocated to nearby World Café Live where we enjoyed a fabulous TEN YEAR residency.  We developed a great relationship with the venue and people at WCL as both their team and ours strived to make each following year’s event better than the one before it.  We really believe that we achieved this goal, but, over that ten-year period, Vintage Imports has experienced tremendous growth.  Our sales team and portfolio have grown dynamically, so it is with great excitement that we are moving to a new venue for 2018!

This year’s event will be held on Wednesday, September 26th at Philadelphia’s Sugarhouse Casino & Event Center.  We are excited to move to a larger space to feature more of our world-class winery partners and their great wines, along with on-site free parking, all new catering options, scenic views of the Ben Franklin Bridge and Delaware River through floor-to-ceiling windows (whoa, natural light!), and even a few special surprises.

We expect this year’s attendance to be very strong. Not only do we continue to grow the company’s footprint in the market, but we also expect the venue itself and its amenities to increase the customer turnout. As in recent years, the cost is $500 per table, plus the cost of your wines that will be presented (generally 2-3 bottles for each selection), with a max of 10 wines per table. For logistical reasons, we prefer to pull samples from our inventory, unless you are planning on pouring something which we do not stock. Bottles are billed back at our true purchase cost plus actual freight and duty/tax (if applicable). Should you not wish to pay for the samples, you may opt to bring your own wines to the event instead.

To celebrate the new venue, we will be putting together branded gift bags for the attendees that we hope to fill with various goodies. If you would like to include any branded promotional items, please indicate your intent on the registration form.

We strongly prefer that you have someone representing the winery pouring at each table, but understand that sometimes schedules do not align as desired. If you would like your wines to be featured, but are unable to have someone attend to pour, we can allocate staff to provide representation. There will be a $100 fee per table if you elect to not send a representative and ask us to cover.

We ask that suppliers arrive no later than 2 pm, and are completely ready by 2:30 pm, as the doors will open to the general public at 3 pm. Additionally, we often have a group of buyers who are on a tight schedule and arrive early (between 2 and 230pm). Following the tasting, there will be a group dinner served, and all suppliers are welcome and encouraged to stay, as it is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a meal and mingle with the Vintage Imports team.

Through the registration form linked below, you may register for the event as well as request ride-with days and desired territories. As this is a very busy week for all of us here at the company, these will be scheduled on a first-come-first-served basis. On Friday, September 28th, we have our sales meeting, where there will be a limited number of 20-minute spots for suppliers to present to our entire team and taste up to three wines.
