The nose bursts with fruit – kiwi, key lime, and grapefruit and has a wonderful sea spray quality. On the palate this wine is textural, with racy acidity that rounds out on the finish like a bite of key lime pie; it starts with tart fruit and finishes with a soft creaminess. Every year we find that Chardonnay from Zotovich Vineyard is the most Chablis-like bottling we produce.

The Estate

SAMsARA produces limited releases of Pinot Noir, Syrah, Grenache and Chardonnay from carefully selected micro-sites within Sta. Rita Hill’s most distinctive vineyards. Our wines showcase the distinctive natural elements at play on each vineyard, harnessed through a low intervention winemaking style.

Wine Making

Aged for 16 months in neutral French Oak barrels. Fermented with native yeast.  Every year we find that Chardonnay from Zotovich Vineyard is the most Chablis-like bottling we produce.

Wine Enthusiast – 93

"This is a very Chablis-like bottling, starting with tight and edgy but ultimately smoothed out aromas of lime zest, chalk and lemongrass. The palate is tense, like licking river stones and sea shells, offering flavors of Meyer lemon peel and citrus juice."
